Full Review Courses

Since 1993, we've provided effective, impactful review courses that gave professionals in the construction industry the tools necessary to pass their professional licensing and accreditation exams. Today, we've leveraged our experience to design courses that were built with one purpose in mind, to help you pass your exam - guaranteed.

California Law & Business

Students enrolled in AVTI's program go through an extensive program that teaches them the fundamentals in construction business management. The curriculum is comprised of 16 hours of lecture, in-class activities, and self-paced computer assisted review sessions. Lecture topics include basic accounting principles, employee management, basic contract laws, and project management.

Translated materials in Chinese, Vietnamese, and Spanish are available as an aid for students whose second language is English. Course length varies, depending on each student's ability to read and comprehend key concepts and terms.

1. Package A: Home Study Kit with Computer Access

This option is for student who feel confident studying on their own.

those who want the flexibility of the Home Study Kit and the educational environment of our computer labs. Our labs come with a network of computers equipped with our latest Simulated Examination Programs (SEP ®). SEP provides students with an effective means for studying by placing students in an environment similar to the real testing environment administered by the CSLB. All questions are in multiple choice format and timed. SEP was designed to ensure that students will be knowledgeable with computers, understand what questions may be asked, and most importantly; feel comfortable using computers. This package includes:

• Law Book
  A simple and easy to read yet comprehensive textbook detailing the specifics of California Construction Law. Chapter topics include basic accounting principles, forms and contracts, project planning and much more. The Law Book also comes with quizzes after each chapter and contains hundreds of practical examples. A must read for any contractor.

• Trade Book
  An extensive study guide complete with illustrations, basic trade information, and hundreds of sample test questions modeled after CSLB exam questions. These questions are constantly updated to ensure relevancy and thoroughness and is a must for any contractor serious about getting their license. Book also includes a construction dictionary with the most popular construction terminology.

• Online Course (1 year)
  Contains several useful tools that make learning easy and convenient from your very own home! The online course is complete with over 2,000 different questions and simulates the actual CSLB computer exams.

• Unlimited Access to on-site computer labs in any AVTI office.

2. Package B: Full Course

This is our complete training program made for contractors who are serious about getting their license and are dedicated to passing the CSLB exam the first time. Students enrolled in this program will go through 4 seminars with an instructor on weekends where they will receive all textbooks and supplies. Seminar lectures will cover topics concerning California Construction Law and Trade. Concurrent with the seminars, students will go through a self-paced computer lab regiment until they feel confident enough to take the real exam.
